MUSIC SYNC LICENSING

The media/music term "sync" refers to the word "synchronization" in production this refers to the syncing of music/audio to moving picture. Media creators legally need a license from musical artists to use their song or score. When you hear a famous song in a movie or tv show that song was cleared for legal purposes by a music supervisor by paying the musical artist to sync that song.

Sync agents pitch their clients’ songs in a musical library when music supervisors are looking to add music/score to a media project and try to secure a lucrative usage fee.

These projects could include:

  • Movies

  • TV Shows

  • Commercials

  • Video Games

  • Promos

  • Trailers

  • Ad Campaigns

In nearly all sync situations you retain full rights to your music and are giving the 3rd party a license with a set amount of time and use.

If you’d be interested in submitting your music, fill out the application below. Our music supervisor will review your submission and get back to you if it fits our criteria for media placements.
