22 year old Queens based rap artist Dre A.M. makes his first appearance on NxtNow Music with “Break The Chains”, his first release back from his three month hiatus. His debut album “Bad Kid, GOOD City” (stream HERE) was released May 20th of this year, and garnered over 30,000 streams.

“Break The Chains” is an innovative track blending elements of pop and hip-hop, with a sound reminiscent of the production done by Timbaland in the early 2000's such as “Dirt Off Your Shoulder”, and his work with Justin Timberlake.

The track, produced by zero610, was inspired by a long stretch of writer's block; Dre writes about his inability to come up with a new concept, which ironically creates an entirely new song concept. Accompanying the track is the self-directed music video, shot by Jennifer Duggan.
