Emma See Shares Her Latest Single, “How to Drive”

Emma See has followed her own path since leaving the safety of her childhood home in West Zealand, Denmark as a teenager to study music in Brighton, England. She later relocated to London, where she continues to pursue life as a singer-songwriter. Having lived much of her life on the move, she channels a global perspective into a melancholic yet infectious pop sound, shaped by confessional, diary-like lyrics.

In many ways, ’How to Drive’ defines who she is both as an artist and as a person.

“It was written in the aftermath of a dysfunctional relationship and captures that moment when you finally choose yourself - even if it means standing alone. For me, ’How to Drive’ became a way of letting go of old patterns and accepting that you don’t need to know the road or your destination to move forward,” says Emma See.

The single marks the beginning of a larger conceptual project exploring identity and the search for direction. Vulnerability sits alongside a growing sense of confidence, while a touch of self-awareness traces a deeply human journey through relationships, heartbreak, and personal growth.

Emma See released her debut EP ’Emotional Currency’ in February. She has previously been played on Danish national radio P3 and on BBC Introducing in the UK, received international praise from a range of blogs and cultural outlets, and performed across Scandinavia and the UK - including at the renowned industry festival The Great Escape.

’How to Drive’ was written and produced in collaboration with Canadian Connor Douglas Ferguson and German-Estonian Steven Ilves. The single is released independently via Apollo Music.
