NYC Indie Artists to Perform at Brooklyn Bowl in Vocana Series

Designed to boost the independent music scene from all sides, Vocana “Pay the Artists” Live Series showcases foster fan discovery and pay artists sustainably.

Vocana (vocana.co), the streaming service for independent music, has expanded its Vocana “Pay the Artists” Live Series in New York with four more shows this spring in collaboration with partner Sonicbids. Held at independent venues, shows offer artists a $200 minimum guarantee, offer fans special ticket prices subsidized by Vocana, and demonstrate the streaming service’s dedication to uplifting indie music.

Working together with Sonicbids, Vocana “Pay the Artists” uplifts New York’s independent voices, the venues, musicians, and music lovers who make music thrive. The series takes place at some of the city’s newest independent venues, including For the Record, a new record store and performance space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. To tap local indie talent, Vocana is working with like-minded promoters, as well as curating lineups that build on its growing community of fans, artists, and tastemakers.

Vocana was created to build real connection and community through recorded music, while ensuring artists get paid equitably and can connect to fans directly,” says Neil Sheehan, President of Vocana. “We’re taking this same spirit to live music, making shows work financially for artists and helping more people find amazing music in their hometown.”

Vocana has continued to champion the independent artist and nothing can be clearer than our upcoming event on April 29th at Brooklyn Bowl,” explains Daniel Melnick, CEO of Sonicbids. “Giving indie artists the chance to play in a 1000-cap space is something that local artists rarely get.”
