Symphonic Artists Join Vocana’s Indie-Only Streaming Platform
Vocana is announcing a collaboration with Symphonic, bringing Symphonic’s diverse global roster of independent artists to Vocana’s community of independent music listeners.
A meeting of truly independent music companies, the collaboration expands Vocana’s catalog while giving Symphonic artists access to a streaming platform built specifically for independent music—one centered on user-centric payments, direct artist-fan connection, human-led discovery, and transparent, actionable artist-level data.
Unlike traditional streaming services, Vocana’s data model is designed to be artist-usable, not just artist-visible. Artists can see who is listening to their music, how fans are engaging, and—when fans opt in—communicate directly with listeners via first-party contact information tied to individual streams.
“Streaming has trained artists to accept numbers without context,” says Neil Sheehan, President of Vocana. “We believe artists deserve to understand who their fans are, not just how many streams they have. This is particularly important to the independent spirited artists who use Symphonic. Vocana combines fair payouts, human discovery, and direct fan connection with data that actually helps artists build sustainable careers.”
For Symphonic, a leading music technology and services company for independent labels, managers, and artists, the collaboration aligns with its mission to nurture artists as they grow creatively and professionally – offering more opportunities for them to grow their listenership.
“Our artists hail from all over and make music that reflects nearly every corner of the globe. A one-size-fits-all approach based on superstar scale doesn’t serve them,” notes Jorge Brea, Founder and CEO of Symphonic. “Vocana is building a platform where artists can be discovered, paid fairly, and form real relationships with fans. Their approach to data and fan access gives artists something the industry has long withheld: clarity and connection.”
Set for public launch this year, Vocana is currently in public beta. It continues to expand its indie-only catalog while developing a community-driven listening experience focused on long-term sustainability for independent artists.
