Thai Bedroom Pop Sensation pami Shares Her New Single/Video “loser”
Thai bedroom pop rising star and one of Southeast Asia’s most compelling indie discoveries pami returns with ‘loser’, an unflinchingly candid, sharply observed and emotionally exposed new single about knowing a relationship is bad for you and staying anyway because being wanted, however inconsistently, can feel easier than being alone. Centred on the fragile, uncertain and undefined reality of a modern on-and-off situationship, ‘loser’ sees the 2026 TOTY Music Award-winning rising star capturing the strange compromises we make when wanting somebody begins to outweigh knowing they are wrong for us, and the uncomfortable space between attraction and self-respect, where affection comes without commitment and one person is left accepting whatever version of the relationship the other is willing to offer. Driven by her signature diaristic writing, pami turns that imbalance into something painfully recognisable and relatable, tracing the contradictions of wanting to walk away while still craving the intimacy, attention and physical connection keeping you there.
Written by pami and Australian riser Jett Blyton, and produced by award-winning musician Maribelle (Young Franco, iKON, George Alice), ‘loser’ was birthed out of pami and Jett bondig over their own experiences of unhealthy and disappointing relationships. That shared frustration became the foundation for a song that refuses to romanticise the situation it describes. Instead, pami writes directly from inside its confusion, documenting a relationship defined by secrecy, mixed signals and uneven power dynamics. Her lover calls but will not leave a text trail, avoids acknowledging her to friends, and openly admits to the possibility of hurting her but pami continues to make excuses for them and defend their behaviour despite knowing better. That uncomfortable awareness and her recurring admission that she feels like “a loser whenever I’m alone” expose the deeper vulnerability beneath the attraction, revealing how loneliness can make emotional compromise feel preferable to letting somebody go.
That emotional honesty and tension drive ‘loser’ from beginning to end. pami knows she is being treated as somebody who can be picked up and put down whenever convenient, yet desire repeatedly overrides the instinct to leave. Her writing moves between self-awareness, frustration, lust and surrender without pretending those feelings can be neatly separated, asking whether she looks like a fool or is simply being used before admitting there is almost nothing she would not do for the person she wants. Even attempts to end things completely or to regain control by playing things cool or are undermined by how thoroughly she remains drawn back in. By allowing those conflicting impulses to exist together without forcing them into a neat resolution, pami captures something particularly true to undefined relationships and situationships on ‘loser’, where knowing exactly what is wrong does not necessarily make walking away any easier, and wanting somebody can coexist with knowing they continually let you down.
‘loser’ continues a defining 2026 chapter for pami, following the success of ‘cry jar’ and ‘all in’ as she pushes the intimate and confessional storytelling that first connected her with listeners into increasingly ambitious territory. Since emerging under Juicey in 2024 with her debut EP out of nowhere and releasing her critically acclaimed debut album puffette last year, the Spotify RADAR and Apple Music Up Next artist has surpassed 12 million global streams and cultivated a community of half a million social media fans, while earning recognition at the 2026 TOTY Music Awards, winning ‘Best Hidden Gem Artist of the Year’ and also being crowned ‘Best Alter Asian Artist’ at the 2025 Tokyo Alter Music Awards. With a headline East Asia tour taking her through South Korea, Japan and China recently, ‘loser’ arrives as another compelling example of pami’s ability to turn the messiest corners of young love into intimate and resonant pop songs that listeners can immediately recognise as their own.
