NN Song of the Week: “QUIT MY JOB” by Baby Cate, Featuring Thatkidlbs

A few months after the release of her single ‘SLEEP,’ Boston based artist Baby Cate and Philly artist Thatkidlbs get ready to ‘quit their jobs’ for their new single.

Thatkidlbs gave a jersey club beat to Baby Cate and the rest is history…even if they are a few hundred miles apart. “I’m based in Boston and Thatkidlbs is in Philly, but we still made this song within the span of a day,” Cate reflects. “Chris [Thatkidlbs] got the beat made, and I was super inspired because I actually quit my job not too long ago. I started writing and recording it right away since the feeling was so fresh.”

“QUIT MY JOB”, which is our Song of the Week, is about not being able to tolerate the quintessential ‘9 to 5’ any longer and taking that much needed break for yourself. “Don’t forget your sandals,” Thatkidlbs says as you embark on the 2 minute 29 second journey.
